High Holy Days at TBE

Tickets are now available for the High Holy Days.  Please call Alice at the Temple office to purchase your tickets, 718-282-1596.  Tickets are not needed for family services.  Our service schedule is as follows:

Erev Rosh Hashanah - 9/20, 7:30 pm
1st day of Rosh Hashanah - 9/21, 10:00 am.  Family service, 1:30 pm. Tashlich 2:30 pm
2nd day of Rosh Hashanah - 9/22, 10:00 am.

Kol Nidre, 9/29, 7:30 pm
Yom Kippur, 9/30, 10:00 am.  Family service, 1:15 pm.

Join us at 6:30 pm for our Shabbat Potluck.  Temple provides chicken, you bring a non dairy/vegetarian dish or dessert.  Torah service 8:00 pm.  All are welcome.

We look forward to seeing our returning and new families for the 

First day of religious school

 on Saturday, September 9th! You can register your children for classes at the breakfast, or in advance. Registration forms will be available later this month. Call or email the office for more information.

Welcome back breakfast: 9:30 am - 10:00 am. 
Religious School: 9:45 am - 11:00 am (note 15 min earlier start time).
Shabbat Morning Services: 11:00 am (note 15min earlier start time). 
Shabbat service participation is part of our religious school curriculum.

Potluck in the Park - Friday August 18th

Join us on August 18 for our Annual Potluck in the Park (a special "bring your friend" event). Please bring a meat or vegetarian dish (no dairy). 

Potluck begins at 6:00 pm.  
Outdoor service, 7:00 pm.  

Meet at the Temple at 5:45 to walk over as a group, or meet in the park at Caton Avenue between East 10th Street and Stratford. In case of rain, the potluck will be at the Temple.

Friday night services continue through the summer at 8 pm. Shabbat Schmooze or Torah Study at 7 pm ahead of services. Hope to see you there!

2nd Annual Interfaith IFTAR Potluck Dinner

2nd ANNUAL INTERFAITH IFTAR POTLUCK DINNER

Where:        Our Lady of Refuge Church (2020 Foster Avenue)

When:          Thursday June 22, 2017 at 7:30pm

Sponsored by the Interfaith Coalition of Brooklyn -- EMJC, OLR, Turkish Cultural Center, American Council of Minority Women, COPO, Congregation Beth Emeth

Please prepare and bring any one of the following:

·        Salad

·        Soup/Appetizers

·        Main Course

·        Side Dishes

·        Dessert

DETAILS

1.     Dishes can be vegetarian, dairy, chicken, fish, meat, NO PORK and should be labeled, clearly, in disposable trays (prepare each dish for 10-15 people)

2.     Bring receipts for reimbursement for ingredients.

3.     This is a family friendly event – children welcome.

4.     Also, please bring:

·        A canned, packaged non-perishable healthy food donation for the OLR food pantry

·        A beverage (NO ALCOHOL!)

This is a wonderful opportunity to share and experience different foods from a variety of cultures…to participate in this important daily experience of breaking the Ramadan fast each evening after sundown, to get to know other Brooklynite neighbors, and to continue to reach out and build the Interfaith Coalition of Brooklyn.

Tikkun l'eil Shavuot - Saturday, June 3rd from 7 pm - 6 am

Know With Whom You Are Standing at Sinai.  We will celebrate Shavuot with an all-night, all ages shul-in.  There will be activities for everyone.  Please call the temple office to RSVP.
If you are going to join us, please bring a dairy snack to share.  Please bring sleeping bags for children.

Last Day of Religious School/Teacher Appreciation Lunch

The last day of religious school will be on Saturday, June 10th.  Join us starting at 10:00 am for Shabbat Service followed by a teacher appreciation brunch at 11:15 am.  Religious school children will then have a Color War from 12-2pm.
