From Brooklyn to Berlin:
An American Jew Confronts Gentrification and the Politics of Memory

Guest Speaker: Deidre Moskowitz

The sisterhood of Temple Beth Emeth proudly presents Deidre Moskowitz. She is a two term member of the New York Board of AJC –ACCESS, and is the co-chair of the Black-Jewish Task Force.  Last November, Deidre travelled with AJC-ACCESS to Berlin via the Germany Close Up initiative in order to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Kristallnacht, “the Night of Broken Glass.”

Deidre will be sharing her reflections on confronting the cultural nostalgia for Jewish identity both here in Brooklyn and in Berlin, and how this nostalgia parallels the widespread gentrification in both cities.
